The merge result has no images without any error message

Dear AutoCrat:

    First, thank you provide the good tool for us.  Autocrat makes work more easy.

    I got a problem when perform AutoCrat.

    There are 200 images on Google Drive.  We want to merge 200 images into the template and create 200 Google documents on Google Drive, too.

    All setting are ready and all result message are success in the Google sheet.

    But there are some images can't merge into the Google document.

    The first fail rate is almost 60%.   The second result is better but still some images can't merge into the Google document still.

    All of document are OK after perform AutoCrat in 6 times.

    I try to figure out the problem so made two things:

    1.I removed other plug-in from Chrome

    2.I restart my PC before perform AutoCrat.  (RAM is enough, I think)

     But the problem is same.   

     Is AutoCrat use local device of resource?

     Is AutoCrat cloud computing?

     Could you help me to clarify this problem?

If you are trying to run all of these jobs at the same time it is possibly failing because it takes too long for Autocrat/Google to process each step of the individual job....you are asking the system to do too much in too short a period of time.

Is it only way to resolve?  We should use trigger and split the process in different time, right?

I have spent a lot of time trying to understand this issue.

My best results so far have been when I put the image merge tag inside of a table.  It can be a one-cell table.

If you don't want to see the border, you can change the border color to white or just eliminate the border.

I've noticed that when I do the above, the document seems to contain a link to the image.  I spent a good part of yesterday on this issue.  I noticed that the file size is much smaller when the merge tag is inside a table.

The inconsistency is what drives folks crazy (you, me, and many others).

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

     Thank you for kindly share your experience with me.

     Yes, I used table to arrange the layout in my document.  It is useful for arrange image layout with wording.

     But my question is some document work as well with Autocrat but some document work fail with Autocrat.

     It is seem random happen.  Those fail documents can be success without any modification just run Autocrat again.

     That's why I agree other friend of comments:  This is may session issue between Google Drive and Autocrat.

     Anyway, let us monitor this issue and help provide information to help Autocrat.    Thanks Autocrat again.

So you already tried that.  In my limited testing, it worked.  I guess it was too limited.

Here is another option.  Bring in a thumbnail of the image instead of the image.

You may have to adjust the formula. Your starting URL might be different than mine.

Another person in the group had mentioned the use of thumbnails.  This morning, I was able to put one image per page into a single file and it worked with no missing photos.

I spent multiple hours and now think I have a better handle on the image problem.

If the result of the substitution is like this, you should have not problems unless you are using a lot of photos per template.

The W500 can be less if you are not using images five(5) inches wide.  Try W200.  If the photos look pixelated, raise the number.

The higher the w??? is the larger the file returned and the slower Autocrat will be.

Take a look at example.  I hope to produce some documentation this week.

    Thank you for the update and introduction.   Yes, my picture of height has set to over 500 pixel.   I think the resolution may impact the picture clear or not on the document.

Thanks for these solutions to this issue. I had the same problem. 

I’m not a computer scientist, but I’m a general practitionner. 

I tried to make a widget for my work, to perform Echographic fast report, using Google Form>google Sheet > autocrat to merge the text and the pictures…

Step after step I succeeded in this job, but when i put 10 echographic Pictures (512x512), About 30-40% of them were Random-lost in the merged pdf. 

Your solution with thumbnail seems to work with my first tests. But if you find a steady solution in the next months, I’d be very interested.

Thanks for testing the thumbnail process.  

I think your issue is ten images per row of data. I tested one image per template for 80 rows going to a single document and the thumbnail worked.

Are you using the Single output mode or the Multiple outputs?

Are you running on a Form Trigger, Time trigger, or manually?

Yes I’m using ten images per row of data (i’d like to use 20!, i Use SPLIT function in googlesheet to separate each path) 

I ‘m using the single out put. (ie one echo report for each row (for each patient))

And i’m running Form trigger in order to receive the merged Echo Report one minute after completing the google form.

Does it help you?

I’m going to make a fake model so you can test it.
