Morning! I'm creating a new job and selecting/matching the merge fields. As you'll see from my pic, the merge field listings are blank, however if I click on a blank line it DOES insert a field. This left me with trying to "find" the correct field in a very long list. Total pain in my butt. I've gone out of Autocrat and back in, started over, etc. Does anyone know why it's not showing the field name? Thanks! (see attached pic)

I selected the correct tab on the spreadsheet and I copied the headings (didn’t hand type them). Like I said, I can click a blank line and it inputs a field, so they are there correctly, it’s just not showing me the name of the field so I have to click on all of them to find the right one. Attaching a picture again. As you can see, I went through the guess game and filled in all my merge fields correctly. When I click on Date, for instance, to change it, you see the blank links (but the lines DO represent a field).

The first step is to make sure you have selected the correct tab on the spreadsheet. That should give you a list of the headings on that tab. Joe Schmidt https: //www. youtube. com/c/JoeSchmidt GLUA. Joe@ gmail. com New Visions Blog Entry - Joe Schmidt
I removed special characters. “Maps to Column” options still show all blank (but if you click on any blank line, it does insert a field….so it’s a guessing game to find the right one to click).

Yes. Special character will sometimes keep the headings from loading. Try removing them and see what happens. Joe Schmidt On Fri, Nov 21, 2025, 5: 32 PM 'Chrisie Jennings' via NV Autocrat Add-on <nv-autocrat-add-on@ googlegroups. com>

I had one field that had two sentences. I shortened it and voila! Fixed! I can see all of the Map to Column items! Yay! Thank you so much, Joseph! 😊 #happydance

Are the heading multiple lines long? If your spreadsheet has a form, you have to change the Google form. Sometimes folks add a CR to make the form easier to read. That causes AutoCrat to not be able to read the column titles. If this is the
