Having an odd issue with file names

Autocrat is successfully pulling the tags to place the information in the generated document but is not replacing the tags when naming the file. this is only an issue in one source spreadsheet. works successfully in others.

Hi Lindsey,

Are you certain the <<tags>> in the filename speciation are flawless?

If the  mapping of the columns to the tags in the document translates fine I'm confident the issue is in the filename tags.

Please copy the failing <<tag>> from te filenamespecification (e.g. <<Candidate Name>>) and paste this in a sheet.new in cell A1.

Open the merge document and copy the same <<tag>> and paste this in the new sheet in cell B1.

Next step is to enter in C1 the following formula:

=A1=B1

The outcome should be TRUE if they are exactly the same...

...and FALSE if they aren't.

If you copy the <<tag>> from the merge document and paste this over the <<tag>> in the filename speciation then you may have fixed the issue.

It won't be the first time some codepage or odd locality setting changed the < symbol into a look-a-like or a near invisible (double) space or TAB made a difference causing you problem.

So I double checked this in a few different directions and got true each time. Of further note, the same tag is merging into the document itself, just not into the file name of the resulting document.
