I have a scholarship application form that students have the capability of editing. The form asks for a lot of information that students don't always have at their fingertips, so they fill out what they can, then come back to edit the application. I have autoCrat triggered upon completion of the form and creates a nice PDF of the application. The problem I'm having is that if I run the job manually, after corrections / updates have been made, autoCrat only gives the original information, not the updated information that I see in G. Sheets. Is there ANYWAY I can get a pdf of the updated information? Unfortunately, we're under a deadline.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi Robert,

You will need to clear the success message text from the 'Merge Status' Columns. ( Autocrat will not run a row if there is text in the 'Merge Status' cells)
Our wonderful moderator Joe has created a script for your exact purpose of running new merges when data in the sheet is updated.

Thank you!  I've copied the script and made the changes in the script associated with my columns (columns 71-74).  I submitted a new application and Autocrat was able to create the PDF.  However, when I made a revision, it did not produce the updated information.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks.

Did you remember to set the triggers for the script?  Watch the video.  Look at the creation time for the document.  I'm guessing that it is the old document.

Thank you, Joe.  Yes, I did set the trigger.  I did miss that I needed to create both triggers.  I created the 'on form submit' and it seemed to work.  I still haven't seen job run on the 'on edit'.  Should that not be instantaneous, as well?  Here are screenshots of my script and triggers.  Obviously I'm missing something.

With both triggers set, the form trigger should cause the status to be erased and then autocrat should immediately run.  For the direct edit, the status columns should be erased and Autocrat run on the next Form or Time trigger whichever happens first.

The columnEdited must be the cells that will be changed not the cells from the Autocrat cells. The rowEdited are the cells that must be cleared when there's a edit on the columnEdited cells.
I hope you understand what i'm try to explain.

Hello, I had the same problem, is there any update that can be made to resolve?

Can you be specific as to what is not working?  If you watch the video you should see that there must be changes to rows 15 to 19 of the script to adjust for where the columns are that you want to delete and which sheet the script should use.

Hello Joe, thanks for the reply!
I made these changes in the same way as Robert Lucas and it happened the same, when I edit the form response the trigger works, but when I edit directly in the worksheet it does not work, even though I made the two triggers, one for each occasion.

The script will only clear the status columns for Autocrat.  The script does not cause Autocrat to run.

If Autocrat is set to run on a Form Trigger, a submission via an Edit URL will cause Autocrat to run immediately after the status columns have been deleted.

For changes made inside the spreadsheet, Autocrat will run on the next event which can be a change via a Form, a Time trigger, or manually being run.

I hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your attention, I hope that the creator of Autocrat has a way to make it work automatically after editing directly in the spreadsheet.
