Template tags work but tags for file name and email do not populate

Hi all,
All the tags in my template work perfectly fine. However, I am having to manually map them unlike before when they would auto map themselves. I've triple checked that the tags are all spelled the same way as the desired information. A pain but I can work with it.
My main issue is that all my tags used within AutoCrat do not populate. See the example below.

Are you using the pullout drawer? I believe the merge tags have to match exactly which includes the case.
The only automatic mapping that happens is in step 2 where Autocrat matched the merge tags in the template to the column descriptions

Hi Joe,
Thanks for your response. Yes, I have used the pullout drawer and typed in manually. Both don't work. My template populates beautifully but the file name tags and all of email tags do not populate. Which means that the emails are not sending because the tagged email addresses are not populating in. Yet, the email tags populate in the template. I don't know! LOL All of my existing AutoCrat jobs are working perfectly with no issues. This is a new AutoCrat job that I created this week and was testing when I noticed the issue.

I have also noticed now that all of the "my tags" in the pullout drawer have an added space like <<Start Card >>. However, the tags <<TODAY>> and <<NOW>> that AutoCrat puts in the pullout drawer DO NOT have that added space. Is this an AutoCrat issue or do I need to go thru my template and add that extra space?

I would check the column headings of the sheet and see if there isn't a space on the right end.
It is hard to see but can be there. Look at the end of the formula bar.

Hi there,
Same for me: tags do not populate file names.
I had to change the column headers to removes spaces and special characters to make it work, thus making the Google Sheets much less user-friendly.

Thanks for the info. It was probably the special characters or you had really long titles for your columns.

Hi Joseph,
"Nom du stagiaire" doesn't work even if it doesn't use any special character and doesn't seem that long.
Are there any specs available anywhere about how to create a working column label?

If you change the column header to "column one" does it work?
How do you know that it doesn't work? Did you get an error message?

No error message, just the tag wasn't replaced by Autocrat in the file name.

Did you select the name from the pullout drawer? The long blue area with an arrow. The column title in the sheet is what determines the usable names. If the title has a space at the end, then there must be a space in the merge tag.
The safest method is to copy and paste the tags you want to use in the file name, subject, or body of the email.

I discovered what my issue was a couple days ago. Apologies for the delayed response. What happened to me was my text alignment (left, centre, right) in the cells got corrupted somehow. I have no explanation for it, LOL. Because the alignment was corrupted, there was an added space that could not be removed. The template was able to read the tags just fine. However, when tagging emails and the email body those tags wouldn't recognise that extra space. My solution was to delete all my text headers and re-enter them. After that, it works like a charm. Hope that helps!

Joseph, I did that but clicking the blue arrow then a tag only closes the drawer without pasting anything so it's not that easy.

Clicking on a merge tag in the list copies it to the clipboard. Go to where you want to use the merge tag and choose paste. I use CNTL-V but I think there are multiple ways to paste from the clipboard.

You are not the first one. Many folks don't understand. I think there needs to be better documentation.
