"TypeError: Cannot read property "details" from undefined."

Hi,

I'm brand new to AutoCrat and am attempting to merge a slide template and email for an event completion certificate on Saturday. Participants fill out a TypeForm which dumps to this Google Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PvfeD_mYxpP_pYdbtrGEeAmYye1k-13-5fiMGRVL22Y/edit?usp=sharing

Whenever I run it, I get the error of "TypeError: Cannot read property "details" from undefined." Can someone please offer some insight? The word "details" does not appear in my spreadsheet.

Hi Ethan,

Row one should contain your field headers, not your questions. Have  you considered using a Google Form?

Also,  a Form trigger only works when the data comes from a Google Form.  You can manually run when the data comes from another source but not use a Form Trigger.

I also recommend using a Google Form.

Yeah, they are just ugly. I changed the first three before and it didn’t fix it. I’ll go through and change all of them

I’m fine running it manually. It is a one time use form so I just have to run it later in the day after the event. Do you see any other advantage of using a Google Form other than being able to use the Form Trigger?

Well, I wiped everything. Started with a Google Form, and created it all fresh without ever touching Typeform. I am still getting the exact same error. Anyone have any ideas? Pretty disappointed at this moment. Autocrat has such great reviews.

Did you create your template yourself or is it a converted file?

Thanks for replying. When you say template, what do you mean? It has been a new Google Sheet each time I've attempted this. However, the sheet has been in a shared Google Drive folder. Is that the problem?

Hello,

The template is the file you choose in Step 2 (which Autocrat makes  a copy of and merges your data on to) which yes can be a spreadsheet but should be on your drive ( Autocrat does not work well with team or shared drives; it can not verify permissions)

Move all files that you are using for this job onto your drive and then see if you still are facing this issue. If yes, then we should look into the template itself to see if that could be the cause. Thanks!

I recently had a problem with my Job using Google Slides too. I think that's the problem because I tried to just recreate the job, but it wouldn't even give me the option to select my Google Slide Template, only Google Docs.

I received this email:

The Google Sheets add-on AutoCrat is set to run automatically at a specific time interval, when a form is submitted, or both.

The add-on recently ran but was not able to complete successfully for the following reason:

Unexpected token: u

Hello Melinda,

The email is alert to check your spreadsheet and see if the job ran as expected (most of the time if an error occurs on a trigger, Autocrat will try to run it one more time and if not, most of the time the next form or time trigger picks up any unmerged rows)

This specific error message often relates to numerical values on a spreadsheet not being processed correctly ( most likely an output form a spreadsheet formula causing an issue) If this is a consistent issue can you try and change the number format to be plain text and see if that helps?

Not sure why I received the email then.  I did not even have a form Trigger. I would just manually do a job.  I don't even have numbers in my spreadsheet.

Can you explain why I'm no longer able to use Google Slides as a Template? And why my job is completely erased?

I'm having the same issue also - with a spreadsheet with NO NUMBERS (it's a Yes/No Name response from a form) and I am using a Google Slide for my confirmation.  I think that is the hangup from what I am reading, but I really don't want to have to re-do this... anyone have any luck?

I have found out why this happens. Specially with the Google Slides. If you are using a Google Slide, either the <<>> Tags may be removed automatically in some cases, or you need to relink the tags and rejoin the file in Autocrat. This will most probably resolve this issue.
