Help please! Certificates and emails not sending - No rows will be merged. None meet merge criteria

Hi 

I have used this program to send certificates a number of times through attendees filing our a google form and receiving their certificate generated by email. 

I seem to have done something wrong this time and have tried

- deleting the job and re-running it and didn't work

-  get the following message but can not find the merge errors: No rows will be merged. None meet merge criteria

- I tried both username and email 

I have a two page google document (wondered if that was a reason) and also multiple sections that I haven't before - if I need to change the settings.

There is something wrong with the output folder.  Is it on a Team Drive?  Autocrat will not work with Team Drives.

I still seem to be getting an error . 

I moved all files to my primary drive and out of the team (shared drive). 

But still getting the same message above.

Did you go through the setup and change the output folder?  Remove the one that is there and link the new one.

The Name tag on your certificate does not match what is shown as the column heading? The column headers contain all manner of special characters that won't work in tags, some of the column headers start with a number which again won't work with tags

I removed the numbering and characters but still won't run or send emails (I had run this with numbers indicated and characters the last 2 years without issues so didn't know it would cause conflicts)  .

I don't see any records in the spreadsheet.  Autocrat can't send emails to when there is no rows to send.

I am getting a message that it's merged successfully and mails have been sent but the email isn't reaching the recipients.

Are the emails in your Sent folder?  There is a possibility that the emails are being blocked on the receiver's end.  Have they checked their spam folder?

Kathleen, the form is clearly not submitting to the Google Sheet you've provided the link to. Which Google sheet is the form set up to write to?

The certificate appears to use the same name and preferred email tags multiple times.

The issue was that Kathleen had the wrong spreadsheet.  

You can use a merge tag as often as needed.

Thankyou Joe et al. 

It works like a charm now !  After deleting the initial sheet and moving it from team drive to the main drive I failed to create or connect that new sheet. Works brilliantly again producing 2 certificates, and emailed out. Tags and numbers all work fine too.

Just a few further points 

"Date signed" is spelled incorrectly on both parts of the certificate

On the second part the Date Signed then displays the text Date issued

The date shown is different for each part of the certificate

Thanks I did catch the typo "singed" and some layout issues afte rthe first run,  however the <<TODAY>> tag outputs the second date with a timestamp though the first is correct format.  Any suggestions?

Kathleen,

I no longer have access to the template but I think you have uncovered a bug.  The formatting must only happen the first time you use the built-in <<today>> merge tag.

Insert an additional column in the spreadsheet and put in this formula.  

={"today date";arrayformula(if(A2:A="","",text(today(),"mm/dd/yyyy")))}

That should add today's date in the format specified by the text function. The column will titled "today date". You can use that merge tag as often as needed.

You can change the name or the format for the text function as needed.
