Subject- should unshrink freud's worst medical misadventures

Dear Topica,

dr. sigmund freud (1856- Sept 23, 1939) & dr f (1858-1928)

Ms (1865-1924), an Austrian author, had a particularly disastrous experience when freud referred the then 27 year old Patient (analysand) to German ent physician for surgery to remove the turbinate bone, ostensibly to cure her of premenstrual depression. She hemorrhaged profusely in the weeks following the procedure, almost dying as infection occurred

freud consulted with another surgeon, who removed a piece of surgical gauze that had left behind. She was left permanently disfigured, with the left side of her face caved in. Despite this, she remained on very good terms with freud for many years, becoming a psychoanalyst herself. (IMPLIES POSSIBLY THE CONFLICT & CRISIS SYNDROME)

"surgery proved disastrous, resulting in profuse, recurrent nasal bleeding; dr. f had left large gauze in her nasal cavity, the subsequent removal of which left her permanently disfigured. Though aware of dr. f's culpability, freud fled from the remedial surgery in horror, he could only bring himself to delicately intimate in his correspondence to dr. f the nature of his disastrous role and in subsequent letters maintained a tactful silence on the matter or else returned to the face-saving topic of her hysteria. freud ultimately reasserted his full confidence in dr. f's competence, making the Patient responsible for the catastrophe by concluding that the post-operative hemorrhages were "wish-bleedings", caused by her hysterical longing for the affection of others."

dr. sigmund hoffman freud md committed suicide by proxy on September 23, 1939, possibly because of severe depression, among other things, which didn't respond to cocaine, apparently buried face down but then vaporized

Some are of the opinion that, had freud committed suicide month earlier, then the second world war would have been prevented or at least delayed

dr. sigmund freud (1859- September 23, 1939) Austrian neurologist and "founder" of psychoanalysis, assisted suicide with morphine overdose

dr. sigismund schlomo freud

These Articles and Comments describe what is apparently the world's worst scam which caused severe, expensive medical misadventures for centuries

Best wishes always
