I am pleased to announce that the following were elected as chapter officers for the 2012/2013 year by your chapter’s Board of Directors at its meeting tonight, Thursday, June 7, 2012.

Treasurer Pro Tem Alan Boyd
This team will assume responsibility on October 1st, corresponding with the first day of TU’s fiscal year.
At this time, please share in extending a special salute to Ron Merly, outgoing President.
I remember when he approached the board 3 years and humbly offered to “take a shot” at being chapter President. He had been on the board briefly and was full of ideas and energy, desires and objectives, of things that the chapter could accomplish.
The happy result is manifold – under Ron’s leadership, for example, we’ve gained several new very capable board members, we’re starting to get access to grant money, with Ron’s passionate conservation ethic we are really getting moving in taking-on and accomplishing more environmental initiatives, we have new newsletter and a new website will be coming.
To top it all off, do we all enjoy talking with Ron about fishing? Is Ron someone to whom we can all relate?
Without a question. Ron’s an angler’s angler … the man eats, drinks, and sleeps fishing. Did I say ‘sleep’? Now that I’ve said that, I’m not so sure. I have no idea when Ron could possibly fit sleep into his schedule.
Hat’s off to Ron!
Be sure to step up to tell him that at our first meeting of the new season, in September.
