Hello everyone,
 
The message below is from Dan Kenney of the Housatonic Flyfisherman's Assoc. HFFA.
 
Dan is looking for volunteers to work on the thermal refuge areas on the dates listed below. I have done this several times in the past and it involves rolling rocks and working with people from several different organizations including T.U., HFFA, and DEEP. This work is crucial for the year-round survival of trout on the Housy.

 

Hi guys,

That time of the year again. Please fwd to chapter leaders. Any help would be appreciated.
This project is part of the Housy Fishery Mgmt plan.

2012 THERMAL REFUGE WORK DATE(S) NOTICE
 
 
 
 
The 2012 Housatonic River Thermal Refuge work days.
 
As always we appreciate all the help we can get. 
 
CTDEEP Fisheries staff will be on site to guide and work with us on both dates.
 
Dates:                 May 26 and June 16th
 
Place:                  Meet at the Furnace Brook refuge, Poppleswamp Road, Cornwall, CT, AT 8:00 am.
 
 
Time:                   8:00 to noon
 
Bring:                  bottled, water, crow bars, rubber work gloves, sunscreen, wading boots
 
 
These are "rain or shine" work days - continguent on flows being less than 1,200 cfs - Check flows @ the USGS website 
  
Please pass this along as appropriate.
