Graphhopper 0.3 update

Graphhopper has released 0.3 and it is updated now also in AdvancedMaps3D project. Some notes:

* Our sample has now minimal implementation of display of turn instructions as Markers on map

* Wiki page is is updated in https://github.com/nutiteq/hellomap3d/wiki/Offline-routing

* The new Graphhopper requires also updated graph files (version 3), so older ones probably do not work anymore. From our wiki page there is link to a compatible sample file. 

* For instructions you need to have graph file with instructions included

* There are couple of missing things in graphhopper itself - turn restrictions (but one-way streets are there, so this is not that major issue) and specific instructions for roundabouts (take 3rd exit etc). 

* Graphhopper 0.3 has better support for bicycle routing - it can take elevation profile into account. Of course it requires that you have elevation (SRTM) data as input to graph generation.

About graph packages - you can ask me if you need one for your country, demos and development and you do not want to learn how to do it with graphhopper itself. Also we can provide commercial service to get up-to-date per country/region graph data files.

Hi Jaak,

I downloaded nutiteq advancedmap and on using graphopper application crash. It says all time 0 nodes found on graph file. am using same graphooper graph file as in previous versions of GH.

Please how to solve this out??

If you update graphhopper library, you need to use also new file. Graphhopper files are version-specific, you need to use compatible file.

 you meant i need to build .map file again with grapphopper? in order to get all others files ready to use? (graph, nodes, etc)?

Hello,

.map file with map data (mapsforge file) can be the same, but other files (graph,nodes etc) must be regenerated with graphhopper

 Am afraid of GH needs linux?...in such case i couldnt get needed files çause am windows user.

 You mind me uploading cuba.map on dropbox in order to get such files from GH 0.3? and use them from you?

did Already regenerating graphhopper files, but its been "compiled" to graphhopper 0.4 snapshot. So, am having a triouble i sent you by email wqith a screen capture image.

Please, could you give me a hand on that?.

You need to use same version for generating files and using them (in device). https://graphhopper.com/#community has 0.3 release which should work fine, can you try with this?

Hi Jaak,

Finally i got attention on config.properties graphhopper files. As far as reading, community  has told it is impossible set graphhopper configuration file to CAR, FOOT, BIKE at same time, and it was exactly was i was  setting up on config file.

Once i set just CAR, it works perfectly.

So just one question: is it because of android memory limits? storing more than one graph ni memory?. It is only appliable to webservers in such case?.

Hello,

Our advancedmap sample has now new routing system preview version, see OfflineRoutingActivity. This is built into SDK and it is not using graphhopper files.

In current initial version it is very fast, but it uses static pre-generated and pre-optimized graphs based on OSRM. In the sample we have car routing graph for one country. We'll add soon foot (and maybe bike) graphs, so app can choose which ones are needed to be downloaded and used. Also other countries will be added. A solution where you can generate and use your own graphs will be also available.
