This is an adult film with uncompromising violence. 

The 1897 invasion of Benin marked a climax in British hypocrisy and exposed the lie of the 'civilising misision' . While the British spread propaganda that Africa was backward and needed their help, The Kingdom of Benin had fantastic artwork and technology artwork dating back 500 years. The British stated it must have been created by a 'lost tribe of white people'  then created a pretext to invade the city, destroy and loot it.

In 1897, the British invaded and destroyed the African city of Benin. They also destroyed numerous religious symbols and stole thousands of priceless artefacts. The Nigerians have asked for them back and the British have sold some of them back to the Nigerians as well as to other countries.. Dr Ama Biney will give details of this massive robbery and take questions on the present fate of the Benin Bronzes currently held in the British Museum.  The talk is free with tickets to the film.
