Hi - I'm trying to track down an Irish penny that is about the size of a quarter. My father carried one for several years and recently lost the coin. I have no idea where to start, so any information will be helpful. Thanks!

Sounds like a half-penny. Did it have a pig on one side? Or a chicken (half dollar size)?
Either or, look in the junk boxes at any coin show. For fifteen cents each, you can almost complete a collection from 1928 (Free Irish Republic - different mottos) to 1968 when production stopped.
