support for matrix multiplication (dot)?

Any chance matrix multiplication will be supported by numexpr? Although it's somewhat different from the other operations numexpr supports, it still should fit into the general framework pretty well, and it would seem to be quite useful in speeding up computations in some contexts (in particular, for outer-product like operations).

No, implementing a dot for numexpr is definitely not in the roadmap.  Having said this, if this is an itch for you and you end implementing something for numexpr, we would be glad to add it to the upstream package.
