The Circle Of Life

When we face situations in our life, there is a valuable commodity for
which we can at times be totally unaware of. The commodity in question
is worth more than money can buy and is absolutely free.
It all starts from the time when we are born, to the things that we
all seem to forget from those innocence days of babyhood and infant
times. The gentle purity of our spirit coupled with the genuine
abundance of complete love and unquestionable trust. When our
consciousness is awakened we believe in the importance of all the
people in our lives that we (literally) look up to without fear,
without anger and without malice - we as individuals; not tarnished,
have faith in everything we see but, more importantly, in everything
we can't see.
As we grow into our adult life, we loose that innocence and fall into
a nasty trap of misunderstanding things to the degree that we are
blind to the simplest answer which is right underneath our very noses.
It is sad that such tricky; difficult; hard to handle; hurtful;
critical moments constantly cross each and every one of our paths, on
unfortunately, more frequent occasions than what deems to be
necessary.
Life is not all peaches and cream, if it were what would be the point
to our existence. It is only through such pain, hurt, anger, confusion
and difficulties for which we grow and develop our souls. To overcome
the blockages we suffer, is to put our faith to the test. When the
light shines brightly after what seems an eternity of darkness, it is
only then that we can bring back what we had forgotten as children.
The fact that any kind of growing involves discomfort (physical;
emotional; mental; spiritual) adds to the beauty and fulfilment we
endeavour to seek as a source of eventual hope for our personal
development. We are like anything that ages, and like a motor vehicle,
we to need to give ourselves constant MOT's, recharge the batteries,
change the oil, maintain the body-work and fix any breakages. We to
get battered; bruised and sometimes, some of us run out of juice
during our journey through life. However, life is a natural healer. If
we can trust that eventually through some circumstance or another, our
pain will be cured... and sometimes by people you would least expect
it from?
We as the human race reproduce in the hope that we can bring back the
innocence of our early childhood days, but for a lot of us this only
ends in destroying us even further when things don't go to plan. The
hurt continues and in an even more personal way than ever.
Have you ever wandered about the circle of life? It has been said that
the very old become children once again. They can't do anything for
themselves, they become incontinent, they have to be fed and bathed,
and they are unable to walk, become slow and sluggish and sleep more
or less all day and all night. They have to be looked after 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week and are completely dependant on the people who care
for them. The circle is completed from young to old. Age is a disease
every one is born with and nobody can avoid. However, with this also
come back a sense of peace; serenity and trust. The child innocence is
returned and replaces all the insecurities; hurt and suffering
encountered throughout the life. The only other people to return to
this purity are long-term sufferers with fatal illnesses.
So, we go back to the beginning...what is this wonderful priceless
commodity? Well it's the simple act of 'Freedom of choice' that runs
along side the fact that in any given situation you can always view
things from two angles - Negative or Positive. There are always two
sides to a coin: love/Hate; Give/Take; Happy/Sad; Calm/Angry etc ...
If you have faith in what you know to be correct and right, then the
foundations you have built will be sturdy enough to carry your spirit
through. No matter how hard things can be there are always little
miracles that are around for you to grab hold of like a little light
saver, brightening up your path. Sometimes happiness can be found in
the smallest of detail and you do have to look for them, but believe
me they are always....always...there. Even in your darkest hour.
So next time someone is having a difficult time just remember, it is
easy to kick them down when they are down .... But it is much more
rewarding to offer them a hand to pick them up - regardless of their
personal resistance and hurt. Sometimes it is comforting just to be
offered that hand, even when it seems too far to grab hold of .... One
day it will be so close it may even turn into a big hug one of support
and love. That is when we can get our innocence back during our
lifetime, and that is what makes our spirit glow.
There is ultimately life within life, but sometimes we have to die in
ourselves first in order to appreciate the true value life has to
offer. We can become blinded by our own judgements, loose our own
integrity to trust from the heart and weep from every pore in our
human body until there is no more tears to cry. Life has a way of
healing and indeed the fine art of moving forward and onwards to a
better way and more refined mature way. Only until then can we really
understand anything at all, only then can we be happy within our
selves. Once you have found happiness within, you have found happiness
everywhere.
