Friends, I usually create songbooks with the help of songs package (I guess the CTAN version is a little old, the newest one can be downloaded from here). Consider the follow example (taken from the author's webpage):
An intimate and interactive evening of songs and stories. Accompanied by Ryan deSouza, Associate Music Director, Company members sing songs from their audition songbooks and tell the stories that go with those songs.
