JME function

I am trying to put a Kronecker delta into a question. There aren't any examples of what a successful JME function looks like so I have probably misunderstood how they work. Why is the following complaining?

There's nothing wrong with that. It looks like the "no matching right bracket" error was produced before you typed the closing bracket, but was never cleared. That's a bug, and I'll fix it now.
