Dear all,

I've encountered an error when running some questions with mathematical expression inputs within an exam, 'There was an error numerically checking your answer: Variable value_generators is not defined'.

The questions are working properly when using Test run on the individual questions and there doesn't seem to be a pattern to which questions are affected, and to what degree. Some will display the error message, while others will display the message, and not change the questions status to answered when submitting an answer. I've tried altering the parameters in the Accuracy settings, but haven't found a fix.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Kind regards,

Melissa Heath

Hi Melissa,
Can you give me a link to an exam which demonstrates this?

Hi Christian,

This is a link to a test with the behavior, Questions 4, 9, and 10 have the milder version of the error which will still allow the answer state to toggle to answered, Questions 11, 12 and 13 will show as unanswered even after something is submitted.

Thanks for your patience with this. I think I've pinned down the problem and fixed it. Let me know if you see this again.
