A while ago, Wojtek held a contest for maps and it was quite
successful. Hosting contests is a great way to increase awareness of
the project, showcase our users's talents as well as focus development
in specific areas. There are a lot of people that want to help out
NullpoMino. Everyone has their own talents and skills and we can use
as much help as we can get!

Some possible categories:
- icons
- backgrounds
- sound effects
- background music
- tetromino graphics
- game modes

Categories for the future:
- animations (sparkles, drop effects, etc.)

There lies a problem that must be on the back of everyone's mind. What
are the incentives for people to help out? Including outstanding
submissions in future versions, but what else can we do?

For a start, official contest pages can be set up (here!) to showcase
everyone's creations. Winning a contest is a bonus, but we value every
entry and we can show this by having a place where these can be
displayed and easily accessed. Everyone knows that NullpoMino is the
most customisable tetromino game around, but if one cannot create the
content him/herself, then there is nothing to customise.

The length of the contest should depend on the category of the
contest. We want submissions to be of a high quality so that should be
taken into account when determining the contest period.

What does everyone think?

Personally, I would like to see an icon contest first because my
NullpoMino icon on my desktop pales in comparison to everything else,
and it shouldn't be this way!

Yes, this is exactly what we need. This is why i created maps and
screenshots wiki pages, but this needs to be expanded.
I think we could add sounds page too, because few soundpacks exist.

But Hard Drop people need to learn to contribute. Blink never focused
on that enough, but i think this should be important part of every
online community.
