Hi null,

Like we all know that Kali linux has just launched a new feature which is Persistent Encrypted Bootable USB Drive.
I have been trying to gather information how this works or how i can use it for my pendrive. I found few links while searching for it but didn't find any to-the-point answer.
Like i am using multiboot USB bootloader syslinux and have Trinity and Ophcrack installed on it. I want to encrypt the USB so that no one can open the pendrive when the OS boots up but keeping the booting functionality enabled..
The moment i encrypt the Pen drive using Bit-locker (True-crypt :( is no longer an option now), its bootable functionality is disabled.

SITUATION
1. If i create a bootable USB drive, the disk is not encrypted and the data can be accessed/edited/deleted.
2. If i encrypt the USB drive then i cant boot from the pendrive just because the boot files are also encrypted.

What i wanted to know or learn?
Is there any option by which i can boot from an encrypted pendrive and can boot the ophcrack/Trinity ISO's and when accesing the pendrive from the Booted up OS it asks for the password??
Awaiting response.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if anything ready to use is available, but you can surely mount an encrypted rootfs, see http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Encrypted-Root-Filesystem-HOWTO/

The partition you boot from needs to be unencrypted, but Linux can later mount an encrypted one.
