Bypass proxy server

How to download torrents in college network as all the torrent downloads are blocked in the college recently?? Browsing social networking websites such as orkut,twitter and facebook are also blocked... they have also blocked almost many proxy websites. Any suggestions

Hi Anup,

Can you share the error what you get when you try to browse the website which is/are not allowed? I am giving answer on basic assumptions. Kindly don't apply these if they violate your organization policies. (only you will be responsible for what you do)

Try to browse the website using the ip address. (For orkut, a small flow which you can try..login to www.google.com (using orkut id and password) > new tab > www.orkut.co.in)

To access blocked pages you can use proxies. (there are many websites which updates daily with newer proxies..)

To access all (websites and torrent) try proxy program which runs on your machine (e.g. JAP - it is old yet effective and build SSL from your m/c to chosen server (e.g. server in Germany)). I have seen it working for websites; and I assume same can be used for torrents too.

The last option is to to map the network and identify the flow in routing to bypass the filtering mechanism. This require advanced knowledge and can be risky too.

,Check that any proxy they used.
in my case they blocked using some proxy setting.
but after removing that i can surf any site most of the time.
if some proxy is thr thn first make bakeup of that otherwise u may
fail to even open google.com

Hi,

Sorry i couldn't give you the details of the error message of the proxy server while browsing the blocked pages as i am in home nw due to puja vacations. The college i am talking abt is National Institute Of Science And Technolgy, Berhampur, Orissa.

I can open almost every site using TOR or JONDO but cant download
torrents in my college. My college uses Sonicwall. Can anyone help me
regarding torrent downloads?
