Instead of the ECSA I recommend the GIAC stable of certifications. I think these certifications will interest you - http://www.giac.org/certifications/security/

GIAC certifications are much more credible and challenging but unfortunately also much more expensive.

GIAC certification are Far tooo costly as compared to EC Council's certs. GIAC certs are affordable if your organization pays for it :-D

ECSA would cost you $ 300 and then LPT which is actually recognized as the advance cert from EC Council will cost you another 500$. so total 800$.

while a GPEN or a GCIH would cost 899$.

So i don't find a big price difference.
