Cycript 0.9.502 with iOS 8.1.2

Hello Nulls,

I am facing an issue with running Cycript 0.9.502 on iOS 8.1.2: 

root# bash ./cycript
cy# Segmentation fault: 11

Heres' what I did:

1. Downloaded Cycript_0.9.502.zip from https://cydia.saurik.com/api/latest/3

2. Unzipped this in /tmp/cycript on jailbroken iphone 4s running iOS 8.1.2

3. Here are the files after unziping:

4. #bash ./cycript gives Segmentation fault: 11

5. 

root# bash ./cycript -p 1083
dlopen(/private/var/tmp/Cycript.lib/libcycript.dylib, 5): no suitable image found.  Did find:
        /private/var/tmp/Cycript.lib/libcycript.dylib: stat() failed with errno=1

Has anyone else ran into this issue? Am I doing it right?

Hi,

I have seen this issue in iOS 7.0.4 & 7.0.2.

I didn't really use 8.1.2

You may try installing the older version of cycript and try. It fixed the issue in the above mentioned versions.

You can try snoop-it for dynamic analysis. It works fine with mentioned iOS version.

I have an issue with snoop-it. Not sure if it is related though. 

I have this iphone 4s and a windows 7 PC connected to a wireless AP. I can ping from the iphone to the PC but cannot ping from PC to iPhone. I have disabled windows firewall and as far as I know there isn't anything that would restrict connectivity at the AP (I have other windows laptops that can ping to each other on the same AP). 

As a result, I cannot hit snoop-it at http://<<iPhoneIP-192.168.1.xx>>:12345/ (tried with 8080, 9443 etc) but wget on the iPhone (SSH via USB) returns index.html. Is there some sort of firewall on the iPhone that blocks incoming pings/tcp connections?

Tried with Cycript 0.9.500 & 0.9.501 (http://www.cycript.org/debs/). No luck. Same segmentation fault 11.

Hi,

Its nothing with firewall. We can ping easily ping iPhone without any extra settings. 

Can you ping any other device from WLAN ?

Sorry I take that back. Seems like a problem with the AP. Anyways, I cant seem to access snoop-it @ http://127.0.0.1:12345 with Safari on the device either.

I am more interested in getting Cycript running through the command line though.

Hi Taher,

I tried cycript on my iOS 8.1 and its working fine.

Rather bash, try to hook into another app downloaded from appstore.

Hope it will solve your problem.

Hi Swaroop,

Cycript works just fine on iOS 8.1.2. I blame the access point for not allowing me to connect (over SSH)wirelessly. 

But I am stumped as to why cycript would give segmentation fault  in  SSH over USB (I used iFunBox).
