Hi all,

tl;dr; --> Looking for a anti-virus software for PCI (section 5.1) compliance for Mac and Windows.

I am helping a friend's startup to be PCI compliant. I don't have much experience in that area myself.

We came across this requirement:

5.1 Deploy anti-virus software on all systems commonly affected by malicious software (particularly personal computers and servers).

I tried reaching out to Sophos and Symantec to see if they have any product for this compliance. But I haven't heard back from them.

Does anybody from this list know a PCI DSS compliant antivirus to be used on Mac and Windows machines?

Also, if you have a contact in any anti-virus software company who has a PCI compliance anti-virus, please send me their sales person contact.

Thanks.

Although, I do not involve myself in such PCI DSS stuff.
But reading the statement it says install an Anti-Virus as part of the compliance. Not an antivirus which is compliant with PCI. No?

Having any active antivirus will fulfill the requirement.

Hello,

I agree.

All antivirus softwares are a part of PCI DSS compliance.

The rule says install AV as a part of PCI DSS compliance.

With Symantec Endpoint Protection (AV) it comes with SONAR(zero day protection),IPS and Firewall.

These features are a part of PCI DSS.

Symantec would install on Mac, Linux and Windows.

Hello,

As every Compliance have some criteria (which is documented in the form of policies) by following which it makes the Organization compliant.
Installing any good Enterprise level Anti-Virus which must be there in each & every system(those are used under PCI-DSS) is one of such criteria under PCI-DSS Compliance.
