Has anyone here used nuke 5 yet? If so, I'm curious how you like it
compared to nuke 4.

2 + 2 never equals 5,
even for large values of 2.

Hi Dave,

I use Nuke since version 4 so I have mixed feelings about v5. I'm too bloody used to the previous workflow and the way tools used to work.

But it's mostly good news. The only aspects that I really don't like in this new version is the color "picker", undo system, viewer changes among other minor details.

But a lot is going on and I have faith that things will only get better.

Cheers,
diogo

I've got the demo running here, but I can't really compare it to 4 as
this is my first experience w/ nuke overall.. But it's much more
approachable than 4 from the outset as far as I can tell.

I like the one window layout, personally...

We're not switching over for production just yet but I have it on my
laptop and it is lovely indeed. Very stable on OS X.

Some people are reporting that it was very slow on their machines
compared to 4.8. I just briefly played with it on macbook and it was
speedy but I wasn't really doing anything. I think Randy mentioned
that it worked a lot faster if he set the threading to only 2 procs
instead of 8. Other then that, I really like the new gui, its like
half shake and half fusion.

How are people finding scripting your gizmos with python instead of tcl?

Well the set threads 2 (or even 1) seems to make it MUCH MUCH faster on the Mac Pros.   I was Warping 2k Full ap in near real time on a dual quad 2.8ghz in V5
