COVID-19 cases are now spreading to areas outside the two towns, Port Vila and Luganville.

Director General (DG) of the Ministry of Health (MOH), Russel Tamata, says the Health Advisory Committee is eyeing other stringent measures.

DG Tamata says the  new 8pm-6am curfew is effective until this coming Friday.

Regarding questions raised on why the alert level status for the other four provinces were also upgraded to 3, DG Tamata says the survey to confirm data on whether there are confirmed cases on these provinces is still underway.

He says if the survey confirms there are no COVID-19 cases on these provinces, the alert level will be downgraded.
