[News Release] NUJP elects youngest Board yet; calls on fellow journalists to resist attacks
Dear editors and colleagues,
Warmest greetings!
We are happy to share with you a piece of good news amid these trying times. The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) successfully held its 11th Congress this weekend with the very apt theme, "Braving the Storm, Emerging Stronger."
Attended by more than a hundred members from 34 chapters, the Union elected its new set of officers and renewed our commitment to continue defending press freedom. Most of the board members are "millennial” journalists while others are not so young (like me).
For more details, please check out the links below. Feel free to storify or publish these press releases and the photos we’ve attached:
We know that we have big shoes to fill, but the new board under the leadership of Chairperson Jonathan De Santos will build on previous efforts to strengthen the Union and protect the rights of our fellow journalists.
The tasks ahead seem daunting but we are comforted by the thought that we are not alone, and that we are stronger when we are united. We look forward to our continued partnership as we fight as one in upholding the people's right to information.

Warmest regards, Ronalyn Olea Secretary General, NUJP
