This report outlines the evaluation plan and analysis protocol and presents the results from a one-year evaluation of three battery electric buses at King County Metro in Seattle, Washington. The evaluation compared three electric buses to a hybrid fleet, diesel fleet, and trolley fleet. The electric bus fleet accumulated more than 100,000 miles in the first 15 months of revenue service. Findings from the evaluation showed battery buses had an overall average efficiency of 2.36 kWh per mile, or 15.9 miles per diesel gallon equivalent (mpdge). The hybrid buses had an average fuel economy of 6.3 mpdge and the diesel buses had a fuel economy of 5.3 mpdge.
We report the discovery of WASP-10b, a new transiting extrasolar planet (ESP) discovered by the Wide Angle Search for Planets (WASP) Consortium and confirmed using Nordic Optical Telescope FIbre-fed Echelle Spectrograph and SOPHIE radial velocity data. A 3.09-d period, 29 mmag transit depth and 2.36 h duration are derived for WASP-10b using WASP and high-precision photometric observations. Simultaneous fitting to the photometric and radial velocity data using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo procedure leads to a planet radius of 1.28RJ, a mass of 2.96MJ and eccentricity of 0.06. WASP-10b is one of the more massive transiting ESPs, and we compare its characteristics to the current sample of transiting ESP, where there is currently little information for masses greater than 2MJ and non-zero eccentricities. WASP-10's host star, GSC 2752-00114 (USNO-B1.01214-0586164) is among the fainter stars in the WASP sample, with V = 12.7 and a spectral type of K5. This result shows promise for future late-type dwarf star surveys.
Results: Intersections with bus stops were three times more likely to have a pedestrian-vehicle collision (OR 3.28, 95% CI 1.53 to 7.03), relative to intersections without bus stops. Formal and informal bus stops were associated with higher odds of a collision at intersections (OR 6.23, 95% CI 1.76 to 22.0 and OR 2.98, 1.37 to 6.49). At mid-block sites, bus stops on a bus-dedicated transit lane were also associated with collision risk (OR 2.36, 95% CI 1.02 to 5.42). All bus stops were located prior to the intersection, contrary to practices in most high-income countries.

Personal rapid transit was originally developed in the 1950s as a response to the need to move commuters in areas with densities too low to pay for the construction of a conventional metro system. Using automated guidance allowed headways to be shortened, often to a few seconds or even fractions of a second. That increases the route capacity, allowing the vehicles to become much smaller but still carry the same passenger load in a given time. Smaller vehicles in turn would require simpler "tracks" and smaller stations, which lowered capital costs. Smaller towns and cities that could never hope to fund a conventional mass transit system could afford PRT, and the concept generated intense interest.
Pune, Dec. 18, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- According to the latest report published by Growth Plus Reports, the global Livestock Diagnostics Market is expected to clock US$ 2.36 billion by 2031 and to grow at a CAGR of 8.2% during the forecast period.
The globalization of livestock trade necessitates stringent health monitoring to prevent the spread of diseases. Livestock diagnostics provide a crucial line of defense by ensuring the health and safety of animals in transit.
BAKU. June 22 (Interfax) - The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas (KMG) have signed a memorandum on strategic cooperation regarding the transit of Kazakh oil through the territory of Azerbaijan, the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan said in a statement.
It said the memorandum, signed by KMG CEO Magzum Mirzagaliev and President of SOCAR Rovshan Najaf, mentions that the parties are interested in increasing Kazakh oil transit through Azerbaijani territory as part of long-term cooperation.
"The memorandum defines the general conditions and principles of mutually beneficial cooperation to increase the necessary capacities for the transit of Kazakh oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline," the information says.
In addition, in March, the pumping of oil from the Kashagan field through the BTC was tested. Azerbaijan has the capacity to transport 15 million tonnes of transit oil per year through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, SOCAR Deputy Vice President Vitaly Beglyarbekov recently noted.

This project supports Cairo and Egypt to enable fast, sustainable comfortable and above all safe transportation for millions of people every year in the dynamic Cairo metropolitan area. The first monorail line will extend 54 km from East Cairo to the New Administrative Capital. The second line will be 42 km long to connect 6thOctober City to Giza. These are the first mass transit links to connect Greater Cairo with New Capital City and 6 October City and will greatly improve mobility for Egyptian citizens. The two lines will be able to transport around 45,000 passengers per hour in each direction when ultimate capacity is reached. With operating speeds up to 80 km/h, the journey time for the new Capital City will be around 60 minutes (for 54 km line) and around 42 minutes for 6 October City (42 km line).
Highlights of the budget include a climate change adaptation plan, a transit pilot project, addition of a road operator to enhance delivery of road maintenance services, transportation master plan, water/wastewater rate model study, water/wastewater infrastructure master plan, asset management plan update and the return of recreation and tourism programming and events.
