The book seems to really be coming together more.

I think the order and layout of chapters may need an overhaul though.

Specifically the seperation between Multitouch Technolodgies and Hardware chapter. I think the way it's separated can cause some confusion. Gorkem/rbedi/anyone else, if you'd like to have a skype meeting regarding this, let me know.

For example, I think FTIR/LLP/DI/LEDLP/DSI should be placed under a new sub-heading called 'Optical Techniques' since they're all techniques that require a camera (optics). Since all these techniques carry similar hardware (camera, visual feedback (lcd/projector), infrared light source) it seems that a introduction under 'optical techniques' should describe that optical techniques all require these three things (camera, light, visual). This way no information is repated within each technique and it's easier to understand since a introduction explains the basis to all the techniques.

This is just one example of suggestion though.

Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Seth,
I agree with you about the separation between MT Technologies and
Hardware - that's not a big deal though; just a quick move. Skype chat
sounds good - whenever you're available.

So you're saying that, essentially, the content of what is the
Hardware chapter right now (projector/camera/etc.) should now precede
the description of each technology (FTIR/DI/etc.)?

Here's how I think the hardware/MT technologies chapter should be
structured:

Hardware (or Multi-Touch Technologies, either name) chapter - General
Introduction to Multi-Touch Technology by Taha
(already written - optical & other)

Optical Section Introduction (explains how infrared light is
harnessed to create optically-based setups, needs
to be written.
What is currently the Hardware Section - LEDs,
projectors, cameras, etc. (talks in a general sense,
applies to all optical techniques).

Optical Multi-Touch Technologies Section
FTIR/DI/DSI/LLP/LED-LP (only discusses the
specific techniques; not the parts)

Technique Comparison
Any other info about capacitive/resistive you want to
include.

Does that make sense? - each indent indicates nesting of the
chapters.

Shoot, the indenting didn't work here - google groups didn't like my
formatting. I'll post a link to a google document ASAP
