The Final Countdown

Eh up,

No the title of this e-mail is not in reference to the 1986 hit by the band Europe...rather that with 8 Corbetts remaining am I now reasonably confident that we can safely predict a completion date of next spring.  Therefore I'm getting the ball rolling to ensure that dates are left free and accommodation can be booked.

I am planning to complete on An Ruadh-stac, which is in Section 13 of the Tables, on OS Sheet 25, or perhaps more helpfully on the north side of Strathcarron.  I am aiming for the week that includes the long weekend of the late May English Bank Holiday, which is the 28th May 2018.  This is therefore the week 26th May-2nd June on a Saturday to Saturday basis, which I think will also be a half-term week.

Whilst I am sure that Shorter's would happily offer their cottage in Kishorn for us to stay in I think that numbers may be such that it would be more comfortable to find some other appropriate accommodation in the Lochcarron area, although I will of course be letting them know of our plans so that we can meet up.  At this stage I think the actual completion day will be weather dependant, although there is some sense in aiming for Sunday 27th May to allow folk to join for just the long weekend.  The rest of the week will of course be a normal enjoyable NUFWAS holiday with plenty of hills, food and other touristical activities.

At this stage I just need to get an idea of numbers so that I can look at some appropriate accommodation, so please reply if you are up for it.  Some people with children or who are not travelling so far (and therefore staying less time) may prefer to look at arranging their own accommodation too, so let me know if you fall into that category.

I am interested, but far from definite. It really depends upon my other holiday plans and Vicky's willingness to let me away for another week without children, but it will probably come down to bribery, fortunately Scotland walking is much cheaper than Alpine Skiing for bribes.
