Dear James

Thank you for your payment of £1770.00 for rental of Esk View for 7 nights from Thursday 28th December 2017. Thank you also for your damage deposit of £200.00 which will be returned to you within 14 days of your departure.

Please arrive after 16:30 to allow the house to be cleaned for you, departure time is 10:00. The key box is on the wall in the outside the conservatory door on the right hand side. The keycode is 3984, just let yourselves in and make yourselves at home. Please remember to return the key to the key box upon your departure.

The beds will be made up for you; please bring your own towels.

Please note: if you are bringing a dog, we ask that they are kept off the furniture and out of the bedrooms. We also ask that they are not left in the house during the day while you are out, and that any deposits they may leave in the garden are cleared up at the end of your stay.

Directions and postcode for the cottage are at the end of this letter. If you are arriving after dark, it's a good idea to bring a torch.

We recommend that you take out holiday insurance.

Directions to Esk View are as follows:

From the South

• Leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 for Kendal/Lakes.
• Follow signs to Barrow (A590).
• Turn right to Workington (A5092) 3 miles beyond Newby Bridge and follow this road to Broughton-in-Furness (10 miles).
• Turn right to Ulpha before the River Duddon (3/4 mile beyond Broughton).
• After 4 miles turn left in Ulpha village to the steep hill signed Eskdale.
• Follow the fell road to the King George IV pub (6 miles).
• Turn right.
• Continue along this road, past the Vicarage, past the Ratty Terminus and then turn right into the narrow road opposite the Brook House Inn.
• Esk View can be found on the left hand side (red painted window frames)

Please note: if you have satellite navigation, the recommended route often appears to be over Wrynose and Hardknott passes which can be very lovely but are incredibly steep (England's steepest road with gradients of up to one in three), windy and narrow. Following this route is shorter in distance but certainly not quicker than the directions shown above.

From the North

• Leave the M6 at Carlisle (junction 44) and follow the A595 (signed Barrow).
• Turn off at Gosforth and follow the road (6 miles) to Eskdale.
• Keep going right through Eskdale Village until you come to the George IV on your right.
• At the George, turn left.
• Continue along this road, past the Vicarage, past the Ratty Terminus and then turn right down the narrow lane opposite the Brook House Inn
• Esk View can be found on the left hand side (red painted window frames)

Parking

There is parking for 3 or 4 cars in the driveway at the side of the house. Please leave the access track, directly in front of the property, clear. Further parking is available by continuing along the access track and parking beyond the turning for the neighbouring property.
