in 2020,
making it the
fastest-growing social media platform for news consumption, according to
Pew Research
Center.

of U.S. adults
under 30 and
25% of adults
ages 30–49
regularly get
news on
TikTok,
compared with
much lower
rates among
those 50+ (10%
for 50–64, 3%
for 65+).
- Over
half of adult
TikTok users
(55%) now say
they regularly
get news on
the platform,
up from 22% in
2020, placing
TikTok on par
with X,
Facebook, and
Truth Social
in adult news
use.
Washington Post's new opinion chief feels the
weight of the
challenges ahead

with reshaping
the section to
promote
“personal
liberties and
free markets”
