Donald
Trump just announced plans to sell
F-35 jets – some of the most
advanced military technology in
the world – to Saudi Arabian
dictator Mohammed bin Salman
(MBS).
This is the same dictator who
ordered the murder and dismemberment
of Washington Post journalist Jamal
Khashoggi and who has overseen one
of the worst humanitarian crises on
earth in Yemen. With U.S.-made
bombs, Saudi forces have hit
weddings, funerals, hospitals, and
school buses. Their
airstrikes and blockade have
helped kill hundreds of thousands
of people and pushed millions to
the brink of famine.
Congress
can stop this by pledging to
introduce a Joint Resolution of
Disapproval to block the sale.
The window to act is short, and
your Senators need to hear from
you right now. Will you take
action today to stop the F-35
sale?

For years, Saudi warplanes, often
maintained and armed by the United
States, have devastated Yemen’s
civilian infrastructure and choked
off fuel, food, and medicine. UN
agencies warn that Yemeni children
are still facing catastrophic hunger
because of this Saudi-led war and
blockade. Rewarding that
record with even more lethal
weapons is not “security” – it’s
complicity.
American leaders should not be
giving the most advanced lethal arms
to dictators who murder dissidents
and starve civilian populations.
Period.
But Trump and his administration
want to deepen U.S. ties with MBS’s
brutal regime, potentially including
a mutual defense pact that would put
American lives and resources on the
line to protect the Saudi monarchy.
This F-35 sale would be a major step
in that direction.
Trump and his family members, like
Jared Kushner, are directly
financially entangled with the Saudi
regime as it attempts to buy their
loyalty and sway U.S. policy.
Congress must step in to break this
corrupt cycle and stop MBS from
reaping massive rewards from his
relationship with Trump.
Before
it’s too late, will you demand
your member of Congress speak
out against this bloody deal?
This deal is just one more step
that ties American lives to the
foreign policy actions of a
bellicose monarchy on the other
side of the world.
