The information I am sharing about NRC Proposed Rule NRC-2025-1140 is not about being pro- or anti-nuclear. It is about one fundamental responsibility we all share: protecting human health—today, tomorrow, and for generations yet to be born. Radiation exposure is a public health issue, not a political one. Regardless of where you stand on nuclear power, we all have a shared responsibility to ensure that our nation's radiation protection standards remain based on the best available science and continue to protect current and future generations from avoidable harm.
Deadline: August 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is currently undergoing a massive overhaul of its regulations. This is our chance to tell them that we refuse to be exposed to more radioactive pollution. They are required by law to accept public comments on these proposed rules, and every single submission is entered into the official record.
How to make your voice heard:
Select: “Submit” on federalregister.gov
Click: "SUBMIT A PUBLIC COMMENT" and submit your message.
What to say: Use your own voice and experience. Clearly state that you oppose any lowering of radiation safety standards. Remind them that the health of the public and the environment must come before industrial expansion.
