I found the graph below on the Kansas City National Security Complex’s website.
What especially interests me are the future new-design nuclear weapons:
• The “Future Strategic Land-Based Warhead” when they are already working on the W87-1 for the Sentinel ICBM.
• The “Future Strategic Sea-Based Warhead” when they’re already working on the W93 for strategic subs and the W80-5 for the Sea-Launched Cruise Missile for attack subs (the latter not mentioned in graph).
• The “Future Air-Delivered Weapon” when they’re already working on the W80-4 for Long-Range Stand-Off B-52s and the B61-13 as a strategic limited earth-penetrator for hardened deeply buried targets (the latter not mentioned in graph).
BTW, a KCNSC handout at the Kansas City Pit PEIS hearing says it is now shipping 333,000 nonnuclear components for nuclear weapons every year. That's a solid sign of how broadly the U.S. is refurbishing and/or building up its nuclear weapons stockpile.
