Hi all,

Welcome to the Nucleus CMS group. This list is intended to be a central
place for talk about using Nucleus, developing wih Nucleus, and
possible improvements to the system. It's not a replacement for the
forum [1], but more of an addition. :)

What do you think should about the idea?

I like it already :) Not sure how well-used it'll be but we'll see how
it goes!

Wouldn't it be possible to create a mailinglist on our own server for this? Then we can manage it ourselfs an make it available through Gmane (http://gmane.org/) so that people can read it in their favorite newsreader.

Just an idea ofcourse..
maybe even better would be to make it a real newsgroup on usenet, like comp.cms.nucleus or something like that, then it would also be possible to read it through google-groups, but i don't know if that is possible..

Greetz,
Jeroen

We could do that , too.
But since this is already in place and working, why bother? :)

Let's just regard this as the unofficial Nucleus group.

Testing gmail with only 1000MB? I've got a little bit more than 2GB :)

Because not all the people like the Gougle-groups interface, some prefer their own newsreader. By using a newsletter/newsgroup we give people this choice. By using a Google-specific newsgroup we help vendor-lockin...

But everyone can still just e-mail to this list, AND subscribe to it in
a news aggregator. So while from a viewpoint of open standards, it
would be the 'better' solution, for now I would like to see how this
works out.

Official dev topics will still be discussed on the private Dev list.
Most other subjects on the forum, and everything else via IM and
sometimes here or on IRC. :)

I think, the private Dev list should be shut down in favour of this
list. That way, we can have complete transparency.

IRC will be good for real time communication.

Thanks,
Anand.

Great! I will try to be online in the evenings (indian time).

Put a sticky message on the forum so that others will know about this.

This works pretty good, Google is really becoming a force to reckon
with. I hope they don't go M$ on us :(

The subjects that we talk about would fall somewhere between the forum
and the dev list?
