We are happy to announce the most recent release of the Nubis platform.
The Nubis Platform engineering team has been hard at work and this release includes remediation of the final security blockers. This finally unblocks the team and provides us a fast and scalable platform for deploying applications to the cloud leveraging AWS.
I (jd) want to break from tradition for a moment and add some context. The Nubis team has been working on a secure, repeatable, scalable and reliable platform in AWS for more than two and a half years. This release, just this week on Monday in fact, we went live with our first non-test, non-IT, application.
This is a enormous milestone for the team and I have heard nothing but positive impressions from the developers who worked with our team to get the application deployed on an insanely fast timeline. To put a point on that, the Nubis team went from hearing about the project to a soft launch in under four days with a firm launch following 3 days later. In all of my many years working in IT at Mozilla, I have never seen a project launch so quickly and so smoothly.
Huge shout out to gozer who was the Nubis point person for that effort.
I hope this demonstrates not only the flexibility of the cloud, but also the terrific job the Nubis team has done in not only complying with all of the shifting requirements over the past years, but doing so in a way that does not inherently detract from the benefits the cloud has to offer.
Finally, I would like to emphasize that this release will also see Auth0 deployed on over 250 https endpoints AND MFA deployed on well over 500 nodes. All of that in under one quarter. This again demonstrates the flexibility that the Nubis team has managed to provide, in no small part due to the underlying cloud technology.
Cheers to ongoing success
jd
Some highlights for this release include:
- Auth0 deployed on every https endpoint
- DUO MFA installed on every instance
