Today we installed 3 sectors and a 34dBi rocket dish in Little Elm on the 423/Eldorado water tower. The sectors are ~150' AGL.
The sectors have a net downtilt of 1° and seem to be working well. They are running the callsign KF5NNY.
The rocket is backhauled to Guinn Hall at TWU in Denton, allowing DtD traffic to other DCARA-affiliated nodes.
All things considered we had a very successful installation.
In addition to the RF hardware, we mounted a second Pi camera (similar to
http://vps.dcara.net/rosston/). I'll publish the URL when it's all configured.
Paul K5VOP and myself were on the top of the tank installing the hardware and getting sunburnt. Don KG6LE was our catwalk master, assisting with the TOUGHcable runs and mounting the TOUGHswitch and surge suppressors. The ground crew consisted of Gerald WB5NZV, Landon N5AET, and Perry KF5ZCS and Travis from the Little Elm OEM.
This install was made possible by the city of Little Elm and the Little Elm OEM.
