Hi Team,

Can I ask the Apple team whether this is your final submission for the Reflections on Steve Jobs' video? Looks okay to me.

Regards,
KSN

1. You have got to find what you love and can be passionate.

Although not everyone can say it is easy, we should keep looking until
we find it. Don’t settle. We should have a faith that we can find it,
maybe not now, but someday in our life.

2. Don’t always looking forward, but looking backward as well

Sometimes if you have to look backward and review your past, you will
feel surprised that somehow there is a connecting point for the every
step you took from past until now. And you suddenly will figure out
all this connection and feel clear what you should do in the next
step.

That is beauty of human being, because we already and always have a
super powerful brain to memorize and think, and therefore every one of
us is becoming more and more knowledgeable over time.

Believing what you have done in the past and what you are doing now is
for a reason in your future, because all these are told by your heart/
brain. No one knows your potential better than yourself.

3. Always have a sense of urgency

We must always remind ourselves where I am, where I am going and ask
whether I am on the right way to achieve my goal.
Don’t stray. So we must ask ourselves in the every morning and
evening.

4. Always have a sense of mission for contribution to our human
society

Asking: ‘what am I contributing now to society’ and ‘what should I do
to contribute more and more to society’.  This question will lead us
to a sense of commitment that it is far not enough to do things just
for our own good. We should always think how to do to make people’s
life better, and I believe that we surely can find some business
opportunities in our life.

5. Just do it and have a faith on yourself. Don’t wait!

Hi Team,

Prof is asking about the finalised reflections.

Are we happy with the following 7 points?

Pls advise. Silence by 11:59am tonight means consent. :)

Cheers,
Erika

Thanks for all sharing ideas about the reflection on SJ's speech, and
the belowing points are based on our discussion tonight. Please feel
free to edit it if you think necessary:

1. Pursue your passion by following your heart. Don't settle.

2. Maintain intellectual curiosity and keep on learning.

3. Learning is multi-dimensional and represents a synthesis of
knowledge - we often rely on our cumulative experiences when solving
problems. For e.g., Steve Jobs relied on his understanding of
aesthetics in the design of the first GUI and typeface for Mac. Other
e.gs. Graphs, flash videos, brainstorming
maps, etc,.

4. Learning isn't limited to formal education. Learning can occur
anywhere, anytime and with/from anyone. In other words, life in itself
can constitute learning.

5. Adopt a reflective state of mind and be true to yourself by asking:
"Who am I?", "Where am I going?" and "Am I on the right path?". Don't
stray from your passion.

6. Maintain a sense of urgency in life by staying true to your passion
and not to waste a minute of it doing things that you don't truly
believe in.

7. Rejections, challenges or failures in life are to expected. For
e.g. Steve Jobs dropped out of college, got ousted from Apple sometime
in his career, contracted a rare form of curable pancreatic cancer
etc. without ever succumbing to these challenges. In other words, we
should adopt a more optimistic outlook in life and use time wisely to
better ourselves rather than wallow in self-pity in the face of
difficulties.

1. Pursue your passion by following your heart. Don't settle.

Steve Jobs said, "I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life..." when he was 17.
    Didn't that sound too familiar?
Just look around. There could be many more (possibly much older than 17!) people saying the same.
The young Steve who made the statement then is now the Steve Jobs as we all know him to be.
One big question: How is Steeve Jobs DIFFERENT from those people?
When confronted with Life's choices, Steve Jobs was (and I believe he still is) true, courageous and faithful to himself. Most people are not!
I find Steve Jobs and his 3 stories very inspiring. He was very unlike most people... Never mind what others think or say... It's all about...

PURSUE YOUR PASSION. FOLLOW YOUR HEART. BE TRUE TO YOURSELF
