Upgrade OS for Primary site server

I found this article from SystemCenterDudes:  In-place OS upgrade for SCCM site server (systemcenterdudes.com)

 

Has this process really become this easy?  Are the post-upgrade steps as simple as stated, or are there any other items to look out for?

 

My setup is:

 

Server OS:  2012R2

SQL: 2014 SP3

MECM: 2107

WSUS is on this server as well as SCUP for 3^rd party patching.

 

I have only one site server, with many remote DPs

 

I’ve also been looking through the Microsoft docs:
