A new network side-channel vector.

 

The paper is pretty technical, but as I read it, it looks like primarily like a new way to do fingerprinting – which Google and Meta will love.

 

The article title is clickbait.

Interesting.

Two things I wonder about, which the paper didn't seem to clarify.
- Does increasing or decreasing buffer bloat at the user end make any difference
- Does setting up many small random uploads/downloads on the client make a difference in detection rates?
