screen width and height in RDP file?

What’s the secret to making screen width and screen height values work in an RDP file (i.e., a file passed to mstsc.exe)???
For example, this doesn’t work:
hostname:s:vmazdc003
full address:s:vmazdc003
alternate full address:s:vmazdc003
use multimon:i:0
serverport:i:3389
desktopheight:i:768
desktopwidth:i:1024
selectedmonitors:s:0
screenmode:i:2
It gives me a full screen no matter what parameters I try.
(FYI: legal values according to MSFT: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/rdp-files)

Specifies the dimensions of the remote session desktop from a set of pre-defined options. This setting is overridden if desktopheight and desktopwidth are specified.
- 0: 640×480
- 1: 800×600
- 2: 1024×768
- 3: 1280×1024
- 4: 1600×1200
