I've got a new Win11 laptop, and have installed the full set of RSAT tools using PowerShell. I haven't tried all of them, but it seems Win11 really doesn't like dhcpmgmt.msc. Whenever I try to get properties on any item, it pops up this error. Has anyone see this, and even better have a fix? I've done the requisite SFTW, but I'm not seeing any relevant pages. I saw at least one page indicating that it might be from not running as administrator, but doing that doesn't solve the problem.

This does not affect dnsmgmt.msc. Weird.

I’ve got a couple of admin systems with Windows 11 on them and neither one has those  issues when using DHCP.

I'm running RSAT on Windows 11 and don't have this problem with DHCP.
However, I have noticed that with Group Policy Management, I cannot see the DC's on the status tab. Do any of you have this problem?

Yes, I get the same thing.  I actually wasn’t aware of it before because my view settings were different.  When I changed them and ran Detect Now, I got the same.

Well, that's not good.

I'm an orphan, I suppose. I'll have to do some more digging.

Grasping – but if you put it in an OU with no GPOs, does it work?

Son of a...

I put it in the Computers container, did a gpupdate /force, and it works - move it back, gpupdate, and it's broken again.

Good call.

Now I have to comb through 20+ GPOs to figure out what's doing that. And why just that RSAT tool?

Thanks - I think... :)

Of course, if you have an idea what setting might be causing it, I'd love to hear that.

I’m sorry, I don’t remember. I HAVE seen this before, but I don’t remember what I did to fix it.

This is pretty low priority for me, but I'll report back if/when I find the fix.

Gpresult /H is a great way to see what settings are being applied, and by what policy… might save time from going through all of them…

That seems unlikely, since it disappears when I put it in an OU that doesn't have the GPOs attached.

OTOH, I have been unable to replicate the problem on another machine running Win11.

I'm still working my way through the gpresult report - in my copious free time...
