I am installing VAMT (Volume Activation Management Tool) on a Win 2019 host. And I'm seeing something odd. In the VAMT tool, when I click on "Active Directory-Based Activation", I see the 4 KMS keys I have entered into AD (my AD forest is a Win 2012 R2 DFL/FFL, even though my DCs are all Win 2019). I also have my old KMS host running (a Win 2012 R2 server), but I'm trying to migrate away from it, and use just AD activations.
On those AD keys, I entered the KMS key for Office 2021 LTSC, that I got from my VLSC I was able to install it into AD. Yet, when I look at the VAMT entry for that key , it says:
The KMS host key (CSVLK) used to create this AD activation object does not support any products that capable of AD activation
I saw this same error on my old VAMT host, which was running on Win 2012 R2. I figured it was because it was on an old OS, hence that's why I installed a new VAMT on a Win 2019 host.
So what's up with this? I had another response that said this was just cosmetic, but now I'm not sure.
I also entered a Win Server 2019 KMS key into AD, and clicking on that shows "Supported Products: Windows 8, Windows Server 2012". I don't know how that can possibly be right ...
Any clues as to what's going on here? VAMT shows version 10.1.19041.0.
