Cluster Updating Status shows failed, but zero count of failed runs ...

I can't explain this. I have a Win 2019 cluster, running SQL 2019. When I go to examine  Cluster Aware Updating  I see it shows  a run date of 02/06/2022, and a status of Failed on 1 node. Now, the scheduled run is for the last Sunday of every month, so it should not have tried to run this past weekend. :-) 

When I generate a report on past runs, it just shows the actual last scheduled run on 01/30/2022, and not what the GUI shows.

Yet the GUI of CAU shows later dates - it says 02/06/2022 - one node canceled, one node succeeded..

(Also: why does it show "CountOfFailedResults = 0", when that run failed? Wouldn't that mean there should be at least 1 failed update on a node??)

Has anyone seen anything like this? I'm trying to make a script that determines all clusters, then queries the CAU status, and emails that to the techs responsible for monitoring the scheduled updating runs, to see which servers they need to go examine (and fix). But I'm getting inconsistent results from the GUI and the log, apparently ...

Both nodes individually in Windows Update  show nothing for 02/06/2022, just 01/30/2022, as the report shows.

No can do.  The staff that checks on Windows Updates statuses are all helpdesk staff, who know nothing of clusters (don't look at me, I don't make the rules). And my boss wants all updating to happen automatically, and all we have to do is clean up - fix any updates that didn't happen, for whatever reason (low disk space, etc).

And this is the first time I've had something like this happen, in the years we've been CAU. I do have to adjust the schedule for months when a holiday interferes with the updating schedule, but I can do that with a centralized PS script,.
