I've got a couple of devs that are annoyed that the transcription is creating so many folders in their Documents folder.

I'm not going to turn it off, but I know I can set it to log to a different directory. I think it makes sense to do that in another directory in their profile, but I'm unsure how to specify that in the GPO.

Could I specify it as something like this? %APPDATA%\PSLOGS\

We don’t use transcription but this post claims that environment variables won’t work as the path for it:  https://4sysops.com/archives/log-powershell-command-outputs-with-group-policy/

I know you’ve said you prefer a directory in the dev’s profile but a shared folder on a server might be easier, and it would keep it out of the devs’ sight.

The devs frequently operate outside of our perimeter with no connection internally.

I think I'll just set up a new directory - C:\PSLogs.

I didn't find that article in my searching, BTW - good find.

I saw that. I think that gets a little bit too fiddly, and a directory out at the root of C:\ seems the better way to go.
