connecting to rtorrent

i followed the instructions to setup XMLRPC at rtorrent website
and I was able to use xmlrpc localhost system.listMethods (on the same
machine)

However, when connecting to rtorrent using ntorrent (http) from
another machine.
I get the following error message.

"Unsupported XMLRPC dialect selected."

My mounpoint is set to /RPC2 when connecting.

Please advise. Is there anything I missed out.

What xmlrpc-c version are you using? i believe you are recieving that error, because you do not have i8 support which only comes with advanced xmlrpc-c versions. I recommend 1.12.

I had these 2 packages installed

i libxmlrpc-c3 1.06.18-1
i libxmlrpc-c3-dev 1.06.18-1

on my debian ppc arch machine which provides xmlrpc.

i A libtorrent10 0.11.9-1
i rtorrent 0.7.9-1+b1

ok, I'll try to upgrade and report back.

svn exported from https://xmlrpc-c.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xmlrpc-c/stable
built the debian package and installed.

ntorrent still give me the same error. "Unsupported XMLRPC dialect
selected."

looks like I got the wrong version from svn..

you need a xmlrpc-c version greater than 1.07 if i remember correctly.
build xmlrpc-c 1.12, it works like a charm.You can follow my quickstart
guide on nTorrent project page.
