Can't connect to rtorrent (blank popup) Ubuntu

I have started rtorrent

netstat -l -n -p -e | grep rtorrent

I have adjusted nTorrent to work with different versions of Java.
Last I used Java 6 update 10

With every version of Java I get blank message box when I click
"Connect" button.
(Local, 5000)

Any advise to get nTorrent running?

Oh. I have old version.

But if I will compile myself when I will do update it would be
overwritten with updates.
So I can't use it with my favorite distro :(

Anyway I like your idea to make remote Java client to manage rtorrent.
It is much better then web front end.

you can create your own deb package of rtorrent, libtorrent and xmlrpc-c, that way you can specify that the packages collide with the repository supplied packages, and they wont be overwritten.
