Just before I start the networks was working fine, before the cable
modem was installed.

I have the following setup.....

1. Cable modem installed on a USB port into Machine A. (The internet
works fine!)
2. A network card in Machine A, is connected to a network card in
Machine B via a mini hub.

And the problem is....... Machine A and B are given IP addresses on
different subnets??!?!?!? Machine A is given an IP address of
192.168.0.2, pretty cool and another well away.

I've tried to manually set the IP addresses up to the correct subnets,
for the home works. IP addresses 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3( Subnet
mask of 255.255.255.0) but they will not PING each other?

I've tried installing the Cable modem via ethernet, i.e. a direct
connection not using a mini hub straight in to the NIC but this fails
too. Machine A and B have two NIC each so it seemed like the ideal
scenario. Are there any Windows TCP/IP setting for this? I've also
tried to install it on Machine B (So that the USB driver will not be
installed)

Any thoughts would be gratefully recvd, I've read a few forum messages
and I can't find the solution....

Cheers

Guy
