Tesside, service quality and MS Messenger

Are there any plans to improve the rather crap service in Teesside or
are NTL going to keep refunding me for every day I use the cable
modem?
Is it like this every where in the UK?
I get a good ping playing CS on UK2's servers, around 70-90 during the
daytime,but as soon as the kids come home and log on, this hits 350 -
400.
However, over the last 3 weeks this has been going to 2000+ which
basically means its a waste of time trying.
Ive tried the 0800 modem service. I can actually get a better ping on
a modem than the cable connection.
Does NTL actually listen to their customers and fix things?
Do they have an upgrade plan?
Rant over, for the moment ;)
Does anyone here use MS Messenger on PC's behind a server (router /
firewall), as Im using it with Win2000 Server routing rather than ICS,
and cannot get the software to send files to people outside (or
inside) of the network. Strange that 2 MS products dont wok with each
other... or maybe not ;)
Has anyone fixed a similar problem?
